On the north bank of the Yare beside the Reedham chain ferry, the last working vehicle ferry in Norfolk.
Mooring by boat
Patron moorings sit on both sides of the chain ferry and are often described as extensive and free. Be aware that much of the upstream mooring is in poor repair and can flood at big tides, so pick your spot carefully.
The Yare runs strongly here. Always come alongside against the tide, and leave slack in your lines for several feet of rise and fall.
About the pub
A 16th/17th-century inn run by the Archer family since 1949, all beamed ceilings, stone floors and a log fire. Local ales from Woodforde's and Humpty Dumpty accompany a menu built around fresh local fish, game and seafood, and there's a four-acre touring and camping park behind. Dogs are welcome in the bar and conservatory.
